Man airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after crash in Northumberland

A 26-year-old man was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after a crash just south of Rothbury.

At 2.55pm yesterday, the Great North Air Ambulance Service was called to assist the North East Ambulance Service with the casualty, who suffered leg and pelvis injuries.

The man, from Ashington, was assessed and treated on scene before being flown to the Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, in Cramlington.

The flight took 11 minutes and the casualty's condition was described as comfortable on arrival.
